~Deuteronomy 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearkendiligently unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all hiscommandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thyGod will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth:
~Deuteronomy 28:2 and all these blessings shall come upon thee, andovertake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thyGod.
~Deuteronomy 28:3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessedshalt thou be in the field.
~Deuteronomy 28:4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and thefruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy beasts, the increase of thycattle, and the young of thy flock.
~Deuteronomy 28:5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy kneadingtrough.
~Deuteronomy 28:6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, andblessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
~Deuteronomy 28:7 Jehovah will cause thine enemies that rise upagainst thee to be smitten before thee: they shall come out againstthee one way, and shall flee before thee seven ways.
~Deuteronomy 28:8 Jehovah will command the blessing upon thee inthy barns, and in all that thou puttest thy hand unto; and he will blessthee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:9 Jehovah will establish thee for a holy people untohimself, as he hath sworn unto thee; if thou shalt keep thecommandments of Jehovah thy God, and walk in his ways.
~Deuteronomy 28:10 And all the peoples of the earth shall see thatthou art called by the name of Jehovah; and they shall be afraid ofthee.
~Deuteronomy 28:11 And Jehovah will make thee plenteous forgood, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in thefruit of thy ground, in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathersto give thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:12 Jehovah will open unto thee his good treasurethe heavens, to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless allthe work of thy hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, andthou shalt not borrow.
~Deuteronomy 28:13 And Jehovah will make thee the head, and notthe tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath;if thou shalt hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah thy God,which I command thee this day, to observe and to do [them],
~Deuteronomy 28:14 and shalt not turn aside from any of the wordswhich I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to goafter other gods to serve them.
~Deuteronomy 28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt nothearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all hiscommandments and his statutes which I command thee this day, thatall these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursedshalt thou be in the field.
~Deuteronomy 28:17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy kneadingtrough.
~Deuteronomy 28:18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and thefruit of thy ground, the increase of thy cattle, and the young of thyflock.
~Deuteronomy 28:19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, andcursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
~Deuteronomy 28:20 Jehovah will send upon thee cursing,discomfiture, and rebuke, in all that thou puttest thy hand unto to do,until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of theevil of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
~Deuteronomy 28:21 Jehovah will make the pestilence cleave untothee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thougoest in to possess it.
~Deuteronomy 28:22 Jehovah will smite thee with consumption, andwith fever, and with inflammation, and with fiery heat, and with thesword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue theeuntil thou perish.
~Deuteronomy 28:23 And thy heaven that is over thy head shall bebrass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
~Deuteronomy 28:24 Jehovah will make the rain of thy land powderand dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou bedestroyed.
~Deuteronomy 28:25 Jehovah will cause thee to be smitten beforethine enemies; thou shalt go out one way against them, and shalt fleeseven ways before them: and thou shalt be tossed to and from amongall the kingdoms of the earth.
~Deuteronomy 28:26 And thy dead body shall be food unto all birdsof the heavens, and unto the beasts of the earth; and there shall benone to frighten them away.
~Deuteronomy 28:27 Jehovah will smite thee with the boil of Egypt,and with the emerods, and with the scurvy, and with the itch, whereofthou canst not be healed.
~Deuteronomy 28:28 Jehovah will smite thee with madness, and withblindness, and with astonishment of heart;
~Deuteronomy 28:29 and thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blindgropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thoushalt be only oppressed and robbed alway, and there shall be none tosave thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another manshall lie with her: thou shalt build a house, and thou shalt not dwelltherein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not use the fruit thereof.
~Deuteronomy 28:31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, andthou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken awayfrom before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shallbe given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to save thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given untoanother people; and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing forthem all the day: and there shall be nought in the power of thy hand.
~Deuteronomy 28:33 The fruit of thy ground, and all thy labors, shalla nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be onlyoppressed and crushed alway;
~Deuteronomy 28:34 so that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thineeyes which thou shalt see.
~Deuteronomy 28:35 Jehovah will smite thee in the knees, and in thelegs, with a sore boil, whereof thou canst not be healed, from the soleof thy foot unto the crown of thy head.
~Deuteronomy 28:36 Jehovah will bring thee, and thy king whomthou shalt set over thee, unto a nation that thou hast not known, thounor thy fathers; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood andstone.
~Deuteronomy 28:37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, aproverb, and a byword, among all the peoples whither Jehovah shalllead thee away.
~Deuteronomy 28:38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field,and shalt gather little in; for the locust shall consume it.
~Deuteronomy 28:39 Thou shalt plant vineyards and dress them, butthou shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather [the grapes]; for theworm shall eat them.
~Deuteronomy 28:40 Thou shalt have olive-trees throughout all thyborders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine oliveshall cast [its fruit].
~Deuteronomy 28:41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but theyshall not be thine; for they shall go into captivity.
~Deuteronomy 28:42 All thy trees and the fruit of thy ground shallthe locust possess.
~Deuteronomy 28:43 The sojourner that is in the midst of thee shallmount up above thee higher and higher; and thou shalt come downlower and lower.
~Deuteronomy 28:44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend tohim: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
~Deuteronomy 28:45 And all these curses shall come upon thee, andshall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; becausethou hearkenedst not unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep hiscommandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
~Deuteronomy 28:46 and they shall be upon thee for a sign and for awonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
~Deuteronomy 28:47 Because thou servedst not Jehovah thy Godwith joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, by reason of theabundance of all things;
~Deuteronomy 28:48 therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies thatJehovah shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and innakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of ironupon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:49 Jehovah will bring a nation against thee fromfar, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flieth; a nation whosetongue thou shalt not understand;
~Deuteronomy 28:50 a nation of fierce countenance, that shall notregard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young,
~Deuteronomy 28:51 and shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruitof thy ground, until thou be destroyed; that also shall not leave theegrain, new wine, or oil, the increase of thy cattle, or the young of thyflock, until they have caused thee to perish.
~Deuteronomy 28:52 And they shall besiege thee in all thy gates,until thy high and fortified walls come down, wherein thou trustedst,throughout all thy land; and they shall besiege thee in all thy gatesthroughout all thy land, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body,the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, whom Jehovah thy Godhath given thee, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thineenemies shall distress thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:54 The man that is tender among you, and verydelicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wifeof his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children whom he hathremaining;
~Deuteronomy 28:55 so that he will not give to any of them of theflesh of his children whom he shall eat, because he hath nothing lefthim, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thine enemy shalldistress thee in all thy gates.
~Deuteronomy 28:56 The tender and delicate woman among you,who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the groundfor delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward thehusband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
~Deuteronomy 28:57 and toward her young one that cometh out frombetween her feet, and toward her children whom she shall bear; forshe shall eat them for want of all things secretly, in the siege and inthe distress wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
~Deuteronomy 28:58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words ofthis law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear thisglorious and fearful name, JEHOVAH THY GOD;
~Deuteronomy 28:59 then Jehovah will make thy plagues wonderful,and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of longcontinuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
~Deuteronomy 28:60 And he will bring upon thee again all thediseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleaveunto thee.
~Deuteronomy 28:61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which isnot written in the book of this law, them will Jehovah bring uponthee, until thou be destroyed.
~Deuteronomy 28:62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas yewere as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou didst nothearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God.
~Deuteronomy 28:63 And it shall come to pass, that, as Jehovahrejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so Jehovahwill rejoice over you to cause you to perish, and to destroy you; andye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest in to possessit.
~Deuteronomy 28:64 And Jehovah will scatter thee among allpeoples, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of theearth; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which thou hast notknown, thou nor thy fathers, even wood and stone.
~Deuteronomy 28:65 And among these nations shalt thou find noease, and there shall be no rest for the sole of thy foot: but Jehovahwill give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and piningof soul;
~Deuteronomy 28:66 and thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; andthou shalt fear night and day, and shalt have no assurance of thy life.
~Deuteronomy 28:67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would it wereeven! and at even thou shalt say, Would it were morning! for the fearof thy heart which thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyeswhich thou shalt see.
~Deuteronomy 28:68 And Jehovah will bring thee into Egypt againwith ships, by the way whereof I said unto thee, Thou shalt see it nomore again: and there ye shall sell yourselves unto your enemies forbondmen and for bondwomen, and no man shall buy you
